Shockwave Therapy
Experience Shockwave Therapy, a non-invasive, non-surgical treatment that’s designed to help heal chronic tendon and muscle injuries.
This treatment is administered by chiropractors and physiotherapists and sports medicine specialists to provide fast pain relief and help restore mobility.
Who is Shockwave Therapy for?
Shockwave Therapy has become a more popular course of treatment administered by Physiotherapists and Chiropractors, and is seen as an added treatment on top of your treatment plan. It is most commonly used in the treatment of MSK conditions, more commonly in ligaments and tendons.
Shockwave therapy is best suited for chronic pain, where other forms of treatment have not been as effective. These include: tendinitis, achilles, rotator cuff, tennis elbow, jumpers knee, plantar fasciitis and more.
What to expect
Treatment
Depending on your condition, treatments can vary from once a week for 3-6 weeks. You may experience mild discomfort during treatment, however it only lasts for about 4-5 minutes. Your practitioner can also adjust the treatment settings to make you more comfortable.
Downtime
After your treatments, you may experience soreness, swelling and tenderness for a few days. It’s recommended that you avoid anti-inflammatory medication until after your prescribed treatments. Depending on your condition, your practitioner will advise on how to recover safely, while maximizing the benefits of this added treatment.
